The concept of Love Medicine is used to refer to two concepts present in Love Medicine and it's associated novels. One, the most traditional definition, is a remedy made to increase love in the subject, such as the one made by Moses Pillager for Pauline Puyat to make Eli Kashpaw fall in love with Sophie Morrissey. The other is used by Lipsha Morrissey and his grandmother Marie to refer to his believed powers of healing. It's use as the title of the novel refers to the symbolic connection of love that binds the tribe and their family members.
